Cooperation with Korea’s KT in AI Infrastructure, Startups, and R&D Development Discussed

The parties discussed prospects for expanding technological cooperation between Uzbekistan and KT, with a special focus on developing artificial intelligence infrastructure, supporting startups, attracting Korean tech companies, and joint R&D projects.
One of the key topics of the talks was the possibility of establishing specialized AI data centers in Uzbekistan with KT's participation. The parties explored prospects for developing the necessary computing infrastructure to implement artificial intelligence projects.
Special attention was given to the startup ecosystem. They discussed the potential for Uzbekistan-based startups to participate in KT's corporate acceleration program, K-PATH, which could serve as an additional tool for engaging with the Korean tech ecosystem and entering the international market.
The parties also explored the prospects of opening a KT DX/AX division in Uzbekistan and providing tech services from Uzbekistan to clients in the Republic of Korea. Furthermore, they discussed the possibility of attracting KT's partner IT companies to the country to open local offices.
Another area of focus was R&D cooperation, including conducting joint research and development in artificial intelligence in Uzbekistan.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to continue developing the proposed initiatives and to further discuss practical mechanisms for cooperation in each area.
At the end of the meeting, two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with East Telecom, aimed at further developing cooperation and implementing joint technological projects.
KT is one of the largest telecommunications and digital companies in the Republic of Korea, developing solutions in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital transformation (DX), and AI Transformation (AX). The company also implements support programs for technology companies and startups, including acceleration initiatives and facilitating their entry into international markets.
