Prospects for Further Expanding Cooperation in the IT Sector Discussed with the U.S. Delegation

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the measures being implemented to advance the digital economy, expand IT services exports and strengthen international technological cooperation.
Representatives of the delegation were introduced to the activities of IT Park Uzbekistan, including the opportunities available to resident companies, the growth dynamics of IT services exports, initiatives aimed at attracting international technology companies and measures being taken to position Uzbekistan as a regional technology hub.
The guests also familiarized themselves with the activities of UZINFOCOM. Information was presented on the development of state information systems, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence solutions, digital public services and the country's evolving digital infrastructure.
Subsequently, Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with David Fogel. The discussions focused on the development of the digital economy, the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies, the expansion of IT services exports, the training of highly qualified specialists and the strengthening of cooperation with leading U.S. technology companies.
Particular attention was devoted to the development of modern data center infrastructure, including the establishment of large-scale computing capacities meeting international standards, the expansion of cloud technology services and the attraction of foreign investment into the sector.
Cybersecurity was also among the key topics on the agenda. The parties discussed measures aimed at countering cyber threats, enhancing the capacity of specialists in the field, implementing educational and training programs, and expanding cooperation with leading U.S. companies and academic institutions.
The meeting reaffirmed the mutual interest of the parties in further advancing cooperation in the fields of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and the development of data center infrastructure.
