As noted, the project to reconstruct the "Kurashkhona" water facility, with a value of $16.9 million USD and implemented with the participation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, is proceeding steadily. Within the framework of the project, 9 modern pump units, a water settling and filtration facility with a capacity of 100 thousand cubic meters per day, a reagent warehouse, a dispatcher building, and a central laboratory building are being constructed. In addition, 2 reservoirs of 5 thousand cubic meters and 1 reservoir of 10 thousand cubic meters for clean water are being reconstructed.
Upon completion of this project, the water treatment capacity of the "Kurashkhona" water facility will increase from 38 thousand cubic meters per day to 100 thousand cubic meters per day. As a result, the opportunity to qualitatively clean water will be created even in cases where the turbidity is 2500 mg/liter, and 600 thousand people will be continuously supplied with quality drinking water.
In addition, information was provided to the regional governor about other major projects. Specifically, within the framework of a project with a total value of $74.6 million USD and implemented with the participation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, drinking water for 650 thousand people in 106 mahallas and sewage water services for 35 thousand people living in 10 mahallas in Pop district will be improved. As a result of the project, electricity consumption is expected to decrease by 7%, water losses by 9%, and operational costs by 11%.
At the end of the presentation, the regional governor gave relevant instructions to the responsible parties to complete construction and installation work within the specified deadlines and in a quality manner, to fully ensure international standards, and to ensure the continuous supply of quality drinking water to the population.
