Under the project, water can now be supplied to the “Eski Yer” reservoir from the Great Namangan Canal via the Sherbuloq Canal using a cascade pumping system.
As a result, development work is underway to restore 250 hectares of land within the territory of the “Jo‘ra Oxunov Sharq Yulduzi” agro-firm, which had been cut off from irrigation.
In addition, 6 hectares of this land are being allocated for the establishment of a “Green Space” (“Yashil makon”).
Today, under the leadership of Namangan regional governor Shavkatjon Abdurazzoqov, representatives of the local community — elders, women, youth, and mahalla activists — planted 3,000 fruit and ornamental tree saplings.
A ceremonial animal sacrifice was performed on-site, and the elders offered their blessings (“oq fotiha”) for the success of the good deeds undertaken.
It is worth noting that by the end of this year, a total of 600 hectares of degraded land in Yangiqo‘rg‘on is planned to be restored and brought back into agricultural use.
