Dear fellow citizens,
In today’s digital age, along with technological advancement, we are unfortunately witnessing an increase in cybercrimes — fraudulent activities carried out through information and communication technologies.
Recently, in Mirishkor district, there has been a noticeable rise in unlawful actions such as unauthorized withdrawal of funds from citizens’ bank cards, forgery of personal data, and obtaining confidential information through fraudulent means.
In the first half of 2025, a total of 36 cybercrime cases were registered in the district, which represents a 57% increase compared to the same period last year. This clearly indicates the growing seriousness of threats related to information security.
Ensuring the constitutional rights, property inviolability, and data privacy of our citizens remains one of the top priorities of law enforcement bodies.
We deem it important to remind our citizens of the following preventive recommendations:
Be cautious when downloading applications!
Only download applications on your mobile phone or other devices from official sources — “Google Play” for Android devices and “App Store” for iOS devices. Files in .apk format from unofficial sources may contain malware.
Keep your devices updated!
Regularly update the operating systems and antivirus software on your computers and mobile devices. This is a key factor in protecting against cyber threats.
Be vigilant about files received via social networks and messengers!
Do not open, and immediately delete, files with extensions like .apk received from unknown sources through Telegram, WhatsApp, and similar messaging platforms.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA)!
Activate two-factor authentication on your personal accounts (Telegram, Instagram, Gmail, and others) to provide an additional layer of protection against hacking attempts.
Keep your personal information confidential!
Never share your bank card number, PIN code, passport details, or SMS confirmation codes with third parties — not even over the phone. Legitimate bank employees will never ask for this information via phone call.
Be alert to suspicious calls or messages!
If someone introduces themselves as a bank representative, law enforcement officer, or government official and you feel suspicious, immediately call 102. Fraudsters often use persuasive language and psychological pressure to obtain your information. Stay calm and act cautiously.
Please remember:
Fraudsters are constantly upgrading their tactics — they use digital scams, fake links, misleading messages, and even artificial intelligence. However, your alertness, legal literacy, and digital awareness are the strongest tools to disrupt their malicious plans.
Ensuring peace in Mirishkor and safeguarding our citizens’ property is the foundation of our social stability. Let us work together to combat crime — especially modern forms of fraud — with unity and determination.
Sincerely,
Sardor Nazarov
Prosecutor of Mirishkor District
