At the press conference it was noted that in recent years the Mining Industry and Geology has become one of the key areas ensuring the growth of the economy of our republic, creation of new jobs through the development of modern production facilities in the regions, as well as improving the living conditions and well-being of the population. Over the past five years, thanks to the transformation of metallurgical enterprises, significant achievements have been made and the production volume has reached 122.7 trillion soums.

In addition, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan ‘On Subsoil’ was adopted by the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology to accelerate system management. When drafting it, the experience of such countries as Australia, Canada, Turkey and Kazakhstan was studied. The law takes into account conditions that are mutually beneficial to both foreign investors and the state.

According to the 2024 investment programme, the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology plans to absorb investments of $3.5 billion in 60 projects worth $27.3 billion, of which $570 million will be spent on geological research. The implementation of the plans will be 100 per cent assured.

The event discussed issues related to plots and land areas offered to entrepreneurs through electronic auctions, education in the sphere, geological exploration, activities of supervisory bodies in the Mining Industry and Geology, scientific projects and other topics.
