On the Meeting with the Ambassador of Australia

On May 22, 2026, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held a meeting with John Geering, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia to Uzbekistan (with residence in Moscow).
During the talks, the parties discussed the current situation in Afghanistan, as well as several issues of bilateral cooperation on the Afghan track.
John Geering highly commended Uzbekistan’s efforts to develop a unified regional position on Afghanistan.
The meeting was held in a constructive spirit and reaffirmed the mutual interest of Tashkent and Canberra in further strengthening practical dialogue.
