Visa to the Republic of Uzbekistan
Foreign citizens and stateless persons may enter Uzbekistan and transit through its territory only if they have entry visas in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. With the exception of citizens of countries for which a visa-free entry regime is established by bilateral international treaties of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (the list of such countries and information on the duration of the visa-free regime is provided below).
Visas to foreign citizens and stateless persons are issued at diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad on the basis of a visa confirmation (confirmation of the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan).
A visa is issued on the basis of an invitation-application from legal entities and individuals permanently or temporarily registered in the territory of Uzbekistan, submitted to the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
List of documents to be submitted when inviting foreign citizens by legal entities:
- A visa application form filled out on the official letterhead of the organization, in the established format;
- electronic application form obtained from the website evisa.mfa.uz;
- Copies of the passports of the invited person, the head of the organization and the employee of the organization authorized to submit documents;
- Copies of official documents of the organization (license, certificate, ID card, etc.);
- Copies of employment orders from the head of the organization and authorized employee;
- A copy of a power of attorney issued in the name of an authorized employee of the organization;
- In cases where the visa is intended to be obtained at the Tashkent airport - copies of the air ticket or reservation;
- A certificate of authorization to engage in labor activity issued to the proposed person by the Agency for Foreign Labor Migration under the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In order to obtain an investment visa, a legal entity with foreign investments proposing to apply must submit one of the following documents in addition to the above:
- on the amount of purchased shares of business companies (issued by the state enterprise "Central Securities Depository");
- the amount of purchased shares of business entities, as well as the establishment of enterprises with foreign investment in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan (issued by the State Services Agency under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan or its territorial departments).
Individuals submit the following documents:
- Visa application form of the established sample;
- electronic application form obtained from the website evisa.mfa.uz;
- Copies of passports of the proposed and proposing persons;
- Original invitation letter from the internal affairs bodies;
- In cases where the visa is intended to be obtained at the Tashkent airport - copies of the air ticket or reservation.
Written applications from legal entities and individuals submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with the established procedure are considered within 4 working days.
Foreign citizens and stateless persons must submit the following documents to diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad to obtain a visa:
- passport or stateless person document (the validity of these documents must be at least 3 months longer than the visa);
- 2 copies of a fully completed visa application form;
- 2 color photos (passport size - 35x45mm).
To obtain a transit visa, foreign citizens and stateless persons, in addition to the above documents, must have a visa of the country of visit and travel documents confirming the date of departure from Uzbekistan to the destination country. In this case, the visa processing time is 3 days.
Citizens of countries that do not have a diplomatic mission or consular representation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and stateless persons can obtain a visa upon arrival in Uzbekistan at the visa service sector of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Tashkent International Airport. To do this, the inviting individual or legal entity on the territory of Uzbekistan must apply in advance to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with the established procedure, obtain an appropriate confirmation (stamp) from the Visa Service Department of the Consular Legal Department and send it to the invited person. This confirmation is presented by the invited person when purchasing an air ticket and passing passport control in his country, and on the basis of this document a visa is issued to him at the visa service sector of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Tashkent International Airport.
In accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the following consular fees are established for the processing and issuance of visas:
a) For single-entry visas:
Up to 7 days - 40 USD;
Up to 15 days - 50 USD;
Up to 30 days - 60 USD;
Up to 3 months - 80 USD;
Up to 6 months - 120 USD;
Up to 1 year - 160 USD.
Note: The tariff rate increases by $10 for each additional number of entries.
b) For multiple-entry visas:
Up to 6 months - 150 USD;
Up to 1 year - 250 USD;
Up to 2 years - 300 USD;
Up to 3 years - 350 USD.
c) For transit visas:
Up to 72 hours - 40 USD;
for a double transit visa - 50 US dollars.
d) For tourist visas:
For 30 days - 40 USD.
Note: The tariff rate increases by $10 for each additional number of entries.
e) For group visas (the group must consist of at least 5 people, excluding children under 16 years of age):
Up to 15 days - $15 (per person);
Up to 30 days - $25 (per person).
f) electronic visa:
For a single-entry electronic visa - 20 USD;
For a double-entry electronic visa for up to 30 days - 35 USD;
For a multiple-entry electronic visa for up to 30 days - 50 USD;
For issuing a group e-visa for up to 30 days - from 20 USD per person.
In addition, fees are charged at the time of visa issuance to cover actual costs associated with visa processing. The amount of such fees depends on the location of the visa processing (regardless of the applicant's citizenship).
Note: A different procedure for obtaining an entry visa to Uzbekistan may be introduced for citizens of countries that have concluded relevant bilateral treaties and agreements with the Republic of Uzbekistan.

S-3 Service entry visa (at the invitation of state organizations of the Republic of Uzbekistan) It is issued for a period of up to 1 year to foreign citizens arriving on a business trip to the Republic of Uzbekistan at the invitation of state and economic management bodies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, non-governmental non-profit associations established on the initiative of the President and the Government, as provided for by the legislation. |

19. STD Student entry visa (based on exchange between higher education institutions - for a temporary period of study) It is issued for a period of up to 1 year to foreign students studying at higher educational institutions located in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan for a short period of time (on the basis of exchange between higher educational institutions or on a temporary basis within the framework of interaction between higher educational institutions), and is issued upon applications from educational institutions, ministries, departments and organizations of the Republic of Uzbekistan that have an educational institution under their jurisdiction. |
20. A-1 Student entry visa (permanent - for the period of study) It is issued for a period of up to 1 year to foreign students studying at educational institutions located in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and is issued upon requests from educational institutions, ministries, departments and organizations of the Republic of Uzbekistan that have an educational institution under their jurisdiction. |
21. A-2 Teachers' entry visa (for permanent employment in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan) The teaching staff of educational institutions of the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, as well as the teaching staff of branches of foreign educational institutions in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, are granted to foreign citizens for a period of up to 1 year. They are issued upon applications from educational institutions, ministries, departments and organizations of the Republic of Uzbekistan that have educational institutions under their jurisdiction. |
22. A-3 Academic entry visa (on a temporary basis) It is issued for a period of 3 months to 2 years for foreign individuals wishing to conduct scientific research (collecting materials for dissertations, scientific works) and teaching activities (short-term traveling lectures) in the Republic of Uzbekistan, and is issued upon applications from the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, scientific research organizations, higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, ministries or departments. |
23. WITH Medical entry visa It is issued for a period of up to 3 months to foreign citizens arriving in the Republic of Uzbekistan for treatment at the invitation of treatment and prevention institutions. |
24. C-1 Entry visa for crew Issued to foreign members of aircraft and railway crews for a period of up to 1 year. |
25. C-2 Entry visa for drivers Issued to foreign drivers of freight vehicles for a period of up to 1 year. |
26. EXIT Exit visa In cases where entry visas are overdue for foreign citizens, they are granted a period of up to 1 month to exit the Republic of Uzbekistan. |

28. INV Multiple-entry investment visa It is issued upon the application of enterprises investing in the economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in an amount not less than 8500 times the base payment established in the Republic of Uzbekistan when making foreign investments, for the purpose of acquiring shares and stakes in economic associations, as well as for the establishment of enterprises with the participation of foreign investments, with the possibility of extending its term without leaving the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, issued to foreign citizens and stateless persons, valid for up to 3 years. In this case, the investor's family members (spouse, parents, and children) are issued a visitor visa for the duration of the "Investment visa" with the right to extend it without leaving the republic. |

On the basis of bilateral international agreements and equality, a bilateral visa-free regime has been established with the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, the Kyrgyz Republic (up to 60 days) and the Republic of Tajikistan (up to 30 days).
2. The visa-free regime applies to citizens of the above-mentioned countries, holders of all categories of passports (diplomatic, service and ordinary), planning to visit the Republic of Uzbekistan, regardless of the purpose of their trip. To enter the country, a person must have a valid national passport or another document that is used during travel to foreign countries, replacing it, the validity of which must be at least 6 months from the date of issuance of the visa.
The visa-free regime does not apply to stateless persons permanently residing in the territories of these countries.
The 30-day and 60-day visa-free regime is valid from the moment of crossing the state border of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and upon its expiration, the foreign citizen is obliged to leave the republic.
If it is necessary to stay in the Republic of Uzbekistan for more than 30 or 60 days, a foreign citizen must provide the necessary documents for issuing one of the categories of entry visas of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
3. Visa-free entry to the Republic of Uzbekistan for foreign citizens under the age of 16, accompanied by their legal representatives and in possession of a biometric travel document, is established for the duration of the accompanying person's visa, but not more than ninety days from the date of arrival in the country.
4. Citizens of Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and China are granted a visa-free regime for a period of 10 days, provided they have a flight ticket to their home country or a third country.
5. A visa-free regime has been established for citizens of China (as part of tourist groups), the USA and Vietnam who have reached the age of 55 to enter the Republic of Uzbekistan for tourism purposes for a period not exceeding 30 days.
6. Hungary, China, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan (up to 30 days), Vietnam, India and the Republic of Korea (up to 60 days), Brazil, Egypt, Kuwait, Latvia, UAE, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Turkey, Estonia, and Japan (up to 90 days) have established a visa-free regime for holders of diplomatic passports. Citizens of these countries (except India) who hold diplomatic passports and are accredited as employees of diplomatic missions or consular institutions of their countries located in the territory of Uzbekistan, as well as their family members, have the right to enter and stay without a visa for the entire period of work.
7. The list of countries for which the procedure for issuing an electronic entry visa to foreign citizens (e-visa.gov.uz) has been introduced and from which it is possible to obtain an electronic visa to the Republic of Uzbekistan has been approved in accordance with Appendix 1.
8. A visa-free regime for up to five days in Uzbekistan has been introduced for citizens of the countries listed in Annex 2, provided that foreign citizens transit through international airports of the Republic of Uzbekistan and have a flight ticket to a third country issued by Uzbekistan Airways JSC. This practice applies to transit passengers who wish to explore the sights of Uzbekistan.
9. Uzbekistan and Japan, by mutual agreement, issue visas without charging consular fees.
