A working meeting was held with a delegation consisting of representatives from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea, the International Contractors Association of Korea, and Korea IT Consulting, with the participation of officials from the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Economy and the Research Institute for Technical Regulation and Standardization.
During the meeting, the director of the Research Institute for Technical Regulation and Standardization provided a brief overview of the activities of the ministry and the institute. Following this, the representatives of the Korean delegation presented proposals for establishing the production of modern, innovative construction materials in Uzbekistan, as well as for testing and standardizing these products based on international requirements.
The Korean side focused specifically on the use of modern technologies and digital solutions in production processes, product quality control, and the implementation of certification systems.
The Uzbek side emphasized that these proposals are of great importance for developing the production of import-substituting products in the construction sector, improving the national standards database, and harmonizing it with international norms. At the same time, the responsibilities of the Research Institute for Technical Regulation and Standardization regarding the evaluation of new construction materials based on regulatory and technical documents and their inclusion in the current system of standards were explained.
At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue bilateral cooperation in this direction, to work out technical issues in detail, and to establish a joint working group and form a package of specific proposals at the next stage.
