The year 2025 has been declared the “Year of Reading” in Fergana region, and within the framework of our President’s initiatives to widely promote reading culture, reading contests, book fairs, and poetry gatherings are being held in workplaces and neighborhoods.
One such event dedicated to book reading, which sharpens human thinking, was organized today at the Margilan Children’s School of Music and Arts No. 8.
The “Reading Nurse” contest, aimed at increasing the interest of nurses from institutions under the City Medical Association in reading fiction, classical, and world literature, as well as supporting their initiatives, was opened with welcoming remarks by the advisor to the regional governor, S. Tongatarova, and the mayor of the city, Sh. Nisbatkhonov.
During the contest, participants demonstrated their knowledge and worldview through presentations based on the works they had read and through quick question-and-answer sessions. Their artistic thinking, ability to analyze literary works, speech culture, and command of language were the main criteria for evaluation. At the end of the event, active participants were awarded diplomas and memorable gifts.
The melodies and songs performed during the event were equally enjoyed by the audience.
