Yesterday, a regional seminar on "Developing the activities of circles, ensembles, and studios in cultural centers and supporting intangible cultural heritage" was held at Culture Center No. 9 in the Bandikhon district of Surkhandarya.

The seminar was attended by the head of the Regional Department of Culture, Shuhrat Normurodov, Deputy District Governor U. Qulmamatov, other officials, and heads of district culture departments from across the region. The exemplary initiatives carried out in the Bandikhon District Department of Culture at the regional level were reviewed. In addition, participants were introduced to dutar (traditional string instrument) craftsman Normurod Bakhshi Shaydilov, who has been making dutars for 35 years and has made significant contributions to the development of the bakhshi (epic storytelling) art in Bandikhon.

During the seminar, participants familiarized themselves with the ensembles, the recording studio, and the library operating within the Culture Center.

At the end of the seminar, attendees watched a national film screening and listened to a presentation by Sh. Rahmonov, head of the District Department of Culture, on the development of the cultural sector.

For reference, in order to modernize the center’s technical equipment and support talented youth, the district administration has allocated the necessary funds, and the latest equipment has been purchased.
