Today, an online meeting (via the ZOOM platform) was held under the leadership of First Deputy Minister of Culture Avazkhon Tadjikhanov.
The meeting was attended by heads of relevant departments of the Ministry of Culture, directors and chief directors of state theaters, as well as the rector of the Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture, Professor Nodirbek Sayfullayev, pro-rectors, the dean of the Faculty of Theater Arts, and heads of relevant departments.
During the meeting, several issues were discussed, including:
- Ensuring the implementation of the Presidential Decree No. 399, issued on November 22, 2024, regarding "Enhancing the Role of Theaters in Society’s Cultural Life and Strengthening Support for Their Activities."
- Establishing systematic cooperation between theaters and educational institutions.
- Setting targeted admission quotas at the Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture based on the staffing needs of theaters.
- Organizing practical training sessions for third- and fourth-year undergraduate students and master's students in theaters at least twice a week.
Avazkhon Tadjikhanov emphasized that the Presidential Decree has created many opportunities for the development of the field. He also noted the high demand for highly qualified young specialists not only in theaters but also in all cultural institutions. According to him, the solution lies in:
- Actively involving students in practical training and employment during their studies.
- Properly preparing graduates for the labor market by integrating them into the workforce.
Professor Nodirbek Sayfullayev highlighted that one of the most important requirements set by the head of state for higher education institutions is the dual education system. Under this system, students must not only participate in practical training or theater-based educational programs but also work at least 0.25 of a full-time position. He suggested that:
- Vacant positions in theaters should be filled by senior-year students, allowing them to develop professionally before graduation.
- This would help students meet labor market demands and become fully qualified specialists.
- Strengthening cooperation between theaters and the institute would further improve training quality.
The meeting continued in an open dialogue format, with theater directors sharing their opinions and suggestions on the topic.
