The Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan announces a creative competition for filmmakers for film projects planned to be produced as part of the state order in 2025!
Synopsis Selection Criteria
Literary script synopses will be selected based on the following themes, which must be presented with high artistic value:
- Reforms carried out in our country based on the principle of "For the Dignity of Man";
- Economic, social, and political reforms in New Uzbekistan, along with positive changes in the spiritual, educational, and cultural spheres;
- Strengthening the role of the mahalla (neighborhood community) as a social structure that serves as a "bridge" between the people and the state;
- The unique customs, traditions, values, and noble qualities of our people, as well as life lessons that foster patriotism in youth;
- Values such as "Family is sacred," "Respect for elders," patriotism, justice, and kindness;
- Stories about individuals with disabilities who have achieved remarkable success;
- Inspiring narratives that encourage individuals with disabilities to engage in various sports;
- Ideas aimed at educating young people in a spirit of patriotism;
- Storylines reflecting real-life events intertwined with family values and national traditions;
- Adaptations of Uzbek folk tales and epics to instill national values in youth;
- Portrait films should include reliable biographical, documentary, and real-life information about the protagonist;
- The script must include episodes featuring a character with a disability.
Priority will be given to Uzbek classical and contemporary literary works when developing storylines.
Submission Requirements
Synopses must meet the following criteria:
- Written in Uzbek, following literary and grammatical rules, in A4 format, font size 14, with a 1.5 line spacing.
- The film project must include:
- Working title; format and duration (runtime);
- Genre and target audience age rating;
- Estimated budget;
- Project presentation (creative team, actors, locations, and other details).
- The main characters, their distinctive traits, the main storyline, key events, climax, and resolution must be clearly outlined.
Competition Timeline
The competition will run from January 17, 2025, to February 17, 2025.
Synopses and film projects must be submitted by the deadline along with an application from the participant (a film studio engaged in cinematographic activities) to the Cinematography Agency.
Important Notes:
- Submitted synopses and film projects will not be reviewed or returned to the authors.
- Projects that do not align with the competition themes or fail to meet the requirements will not be considered.
- Proposals will be accepted until February 17, 2025, at 18:00.
