In recent years, the strategic partnership and practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary have been steadily developing thanks to the resolute aspirations and targeted efforts of the leaders of our countries. Relations in all spheres have significantly intensified.
In particular, the official visits of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Hungary in October 2022 and August 2023, as well as the visits of the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán to Uzbekistan in March 2021 and November 2022, along with meetings and dialogues during various summits and international conferences, have played an important role in strengthening our bilateral relations.
In the development of bilateral cultural cooperation, the program signed between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary for 2021–2026 plays a significant role.
Our ties are also steadily progressing within the framework of international organizations such as the Organization of Turkic States, TURKSOY, and UNESCO.
For instance, representatives of Hungary actively participated in the international forum "Central Asia at the Crossroads of World Civilizations," held in Khiva from September 14–16, 2021; the "Lazgi" International Dance Art Festival in 2022 and 2024; the Third International Festival of Bakhshi Art hosted by Gulistan in 2023; the International Maqom Art Festival held in Zomin District in June this year; and the "Sharq Taronalari" (Melodies of the East) International Music Festival held in Samarkand.
Currently, with the aim of continuing such cultural ties, Hungary's OTP Group is planning to host a concert of Uzbek art in Budapest. To ensure the high-level execution of this event, more than 40 representatives of Uzbek art and culture are actively preparing for the concert.
The concert will feature masters of Uzbek national maqom art, led by the People's Artist of Uzbekistan, Abduhoshim Ismoilov, as well as dancers from the "Tumor" dance ensemble.
The program will include: compositions such as "Istiqlol," "Dildor," "Shodiyona," "Tumor," and "Hayronaman"; the song "Piyola"; and traditional dances performed by the "Tumor" ensemble.
Stay tuned as we continue to provide updates on the details of the upcoming concert of Uzbek art in Hungary.
