From February 20 to 26, 2024, the "Days of Uzbek Culture, Tourism, and Handicrafts" were held in Doha, Qatar. As part of the events, a meeting was organized between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Culture, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, and Qatar’s Minister of Culture, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani.
The main goal of the event in Uzbekistan from October 11 to 14 is to promote the rich heritage of Qatari culture, including its classical and folk arts, performing traditions, customs, and rituals, while further strengthening the friendship between the two nations.
On October 11, the grand opening ceremony of the event took place at "Tashkent City Park." Festivities are scheduled to continue for four more days.
The opening ceremony featured a vibrant showcase of Qatar’s cultural landscape, including its arts, intangible cultural heritage, national musical instruments, miniature and decorative arts, as well as culinary exhibitions.
Following street performances, handicraft and gastronomic exhibitions, a concert featuring Qatari artists took place on an open-air stage.
The official opening ceremony of the cultural week was attended by Qatar’s Minister of Culture, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Culture, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, and several other government officials.
