Assalamu alaykum dear ladies and gentlemen,
Gamarjoba! (in Georgian)
I am pleased to see all of you at the grand opening ceremony of "Uzbekistan Culture and Cinema Days" being held at the magnificent Jansug Kakhidze Culture Palace.
In recent years, the cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia has been continuously growing, including in the fields of culture and arts.
Georgia is one of Uzbekistan's closest partners in the Caucasus region. In recent years, bilateral cultural and humanitarian relations have significantly expanded.
The cultural cooperation between the two countries is implemented through various cultural events with the participation of representatives from both sides.
In particular, representatives of Georgia regularly participate in festivals such as "Lazgi," "Bakhshi Art," and "Hunarmand," which are held in Uzbekistan.
In the field of theater, cooperation between the theaters of the two countries is steadily developing. Both Uzbekistan and Georgia regularly participate in international theater festivals and competitions.
As a continuation of this tradition, we can provide examples of Georgia's participation in the "Lazgi" and "Maqom" festivals.
As we all know, more than 130 nationalities and peoples have lived together in Uzbekistan in friendship and harmony. Among them, over 3,500 people from the Georgian community have been provided with equal rights and opportunities.
It is also noteworthy that one of the central streets of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, has been named after the famous Georgian poet "Shota Rustaveli." Furthermore, a statue of this great writer has been erected on this street.
As a result of agreements reached during the visits of the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan to Georgia and the Prime Minister of Georgia to Uzbekistan, cultural and humanitarian cooperation has entered a new stage of development.
Today, as the result of this fruitful cooperation, we gather with you here at this magnificent cultural palace to mark the opening of the "Uzbekistan Culture and Cinema Days."
We believe that this year will be one of the most important and eventful years in the history of our bilateral relations.
I would like to take this opportunity to quote the words of the famous Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli:
"For a friend, avoiding hardships is unworthy,
If a friend is unhappy, there is no happiness in the world for us."
I wish the fraternal Georgian people family happiness, prosperity, and further development of the friendly relations and cooperation between our peoples.
Thank you for your attention!
Madloba! (in Georgian)
