The Tashkent International Olympiad on modeling in the mining and geological sector "MinGeoMod 2026" has officially commenced at the "Geolog" camp located in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region. This prestigious international event was organized jointly by the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, and the representative office of Micromine Australia in Uzbekistan.
Over the course of two days, young specialists and students will test their theoretical and practical knowledge. In the initial phase, participants will undergo theoretical tests and demonstrate their skills in handling geological exploration data, as well as creating modern geological, wireframe, and block models. Additionally, they will complete practical tasks focused on accurately evaluating gold content within a block model.
In the final stage of the competition, participants will work on a comprehensive project, present their created digital models, and defend their work before a panel of judges. The event will conclude with an award ceremony honoring the winners.
This international Olympiad serves to promote the widespread implementation of modern digital technologies and advanced international standards in the mining and geology sector. Enhancing the practical skills of young professionals and fostering international knowledge exchange significantly improve the efficiency of geological subsoil exploration. The application of precise digital modeling methods plays a critical role in accurately evaluating resources, mitigating risks, and ensuring the transparency of state control in the mining and geological domain.
