Uzbekistan and Serbia Develop Cooperation in Mining Industry

On September 7, 2026, the first meeting of the Uzbekistan–Serbia Intergovernmental Commission was held in Belgrade, Serbia. The event was attended by a delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan F. Khamidova. This dialogue marked an important step toward establishing industrial cooperation and modernizing the mining sector between the two countries.
During the visit, ministry representatives held meetings with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Mining and Energy of Serbia, as well as with representatives of GOSA FOM, a company specializing in the manufacturing of equipment and machinery for the mining, metallurgical, and energy sectors.
The negotiations detailed the expansion of specialized equipment production, the implementation of advanced technologies, the development of industrial cooperation, and the strengthening of the material and technical base of Uzbekistan's mining industry. Prospective plans and specific objectives were also defined in these areas.
Such international partnership and exchange of technological expertise serve to enhance the production capacity of domestic mining enterprises. The application of advanced foreign technologies plays a crucial role in improving the safety, precision, and economic efficiency of resource extraction and processing operations.
