Inspection for control in the field of mining industry and geology under the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology hosted a specialized training seminar focused on compliance with current procedures in public procurement, identification of financial risks, and prevention of corruption and conflicts of interest. The event was organized to ensure procurement transparency and enhance the legal literacy of responsible staff.

The seminar brought together representatives from the ministry's central administration and key personnel from the procurement, accounting, finance, internal audit, and anti-corruption control units of more than 20 subordinate enterprises. First Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology F. Khamidova opened the meeting, highlighting ongoing sector reforms and primary tasks aimed at ensuring procurement transparency.

Chief Inspector of the Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Soliyev and responsible officer of the Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement Agency B. Tukhtasinov delivered presentations on the requirements of the Law "On Public Procurement" and recent legislative developments. The speakers provided detailed explanations regarding contractor verification, assessment of financial and other risks, and mechanisms to mitigate corruption-inducing factors. Measures of liability for non-compliance with procurement legislation were also specifically emphasized.

This initiative serves to eliminate corruption factors in the public procurement system and ensure the targeted use of budget funds. Strengthening systematic control and preventive measures provides a vital guarantee for enhancing transparency in public administration, reinforcing financial discipline, and achieving economic efficiency.
