An extended seminar-meeting chaired by the Head of the Militarized Mine Rescue Unit (MMRU) was held in the city of Angren. The command staff of the system participated in the event to review the outcomes of MMRU operations for the first half of 2026 and outline priority tasks for the upcoming period.
The meeting focused heavily on modernizing the material and technical base of the units and ensuring safety within the sector. Specifically, special emphasis was placed on measures to localize the production of necessary spare parts for the respiratory protective equipment used by rescuers. This step aims to reduce the industry's dependence on imports and enhance operational efficiency during emergencies.
In addition, the participants analyzed the results of monitoring the operational and technical readiness of units for rescuing human lives and eliminating mine accidents, as well as the outcomes of rescuer certifications. Clear measures were established to improve the physical and tactical training of personnel and to create adequate conditions for boosting their interest in sports.
Issues regarding executive discipline, human resources management, and anti-corruption efforts within the system were also addressed. It was instructed to accelerate legal advocacy work to prevent corruption risks at an early stage and explain its negative consequences. At the end of the meeting, responsible managers received explicit assignments to improve the efficiency of operations for the second half of 2026.
The analysis indicates that localizing technical equipment and strengthening monitoring mechanisms within the mine rescue system not only elevate safety standards but also contribute to saving public funds. Ensuring strict compliance with the law and executive discipline guarantees a sustainable and safe working environment at mining and metallurgical enterprises.
