At the events held in the administration building of Fergana district and within Uzbekistan district, the primary focus was placed on reducing the shadow turnover in the extraction and sales of mineral resources and non-metallic materials. According to the project, surveillance cameras based on artificial intelligence technologies will be installed along the main transportation routes leading out of quarries, funded by local budgets.
During the meetings, entrepreneurs were presented with schematic maps of the locations across the Fergana region where surveillance cameras will be installed at the exits of non-metallic deposit sites, and the operational procedures of the software were thoroughly explained. The specialized software is capable of automatically identifying the model, license plate, cargo type, and volume of trucks, as well as tracking their movements in real time.
These digitalization measures elevate control mechanisms within the mining industry to a completely new level. The AI-driven monitoring system will ensure the accurate declaration of cargo volumes and contribute to increasing revenues for the state treasury.
The implementation of this digital system will foster a healthy competitive environment among entrepreneurs by drastically reducing illegal extraction and shadow trade. Most importantly, it will guarantee the stable growth of local budget revenues allocated for the development of regional infrastructure.
