A round table on the topic “Enlightenment Against Ignorance” was held at the Plant Quarantine and Protection Agency

In the context of the spread of ideological threats worldwide, attention to spirituality and enlightenment is of particular importance in preserving peace and stability.

The round table was held with the participation of the Agency’s leadership, heads of departments and divisions of the central office, as well as heads and responsible staff of territorial departments and system organizations via the ZOOM platform. Advisor to the Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs, Ilhom Marupov, noted that in the conditions of rapid globalization, the growth of ideological threats is intensifying. In this regard, the defense of the Motherland, its love and reverence, require great spiritual courage from every individual.

During the round table, examples were provided that highlighted the importance of Islamic values in the context of rapid globalization, their peaceful nature, the need to educate young people in the spirit of religious tolerance and respect for universal human values, as well as the formation of rejection of radical views alien to Islam. Uzbekistan’s efforts to maintain a balance between religiosity and secularism were also presented.

It was especially emphasized that, in line with Uzbekistan’s motto “Enlightenment Against Ignorance,” the country contributes to spreading the ideas of peace, tolerance, and enlightenment, while strengthening the fight against radicalism and extremism at the national, regional, and global levels, promoting the eradication of these threats.

The round table, held in an engaging atmosphere rich with discussions and opinions, concluded with experts answering the participants’ questions.
