Within the framework of the KOICA project, the infrastructure of phytosanitary laboratories and modern training classrooms will be upgraded
A multilateral coordination meeting was held at the Agency for Quarantine and Plant Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan within the framework of the joint project “Enhancing the capacity of the phytosanitary service of the Republic of Uzbekistan and improving plant quarantine control points at the border,” implemented with the participation of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
For reference, under the project, modern analytical and control instruments have been procured for regional phytosanitary laboratories, as well as equipment intended for the training, retraining, and advanced professional development of specialists. This equipment contributes to increasing the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory analyses, strengthening the practical knowledge and skills of personnel, and improving the national phytosanitary control system in line with international standards.
During the meeting, with the participation of Korean specialist engineers, plans were discussed for the on-site installation and commissioning of the equipment, as well as for conducting practical seminars and training sessions on its effective use. In addition, the readiness status of facilities in each region where the material and technical base will be strengthened under the project was reviewed.
The meeting marked another important stage in the implementation of the joint project and is aimed at further strengthening the institutional and human resource capacity of Uzbekistan’s phytosanitary service.
