The meeting was attended by the Agency's management, Aleksei Chuhan, Chief Financial Officer of the Ultradecor Group, as well as representatives of the international consulting firm EY from Germany and Uzbekistan.
Ultradecor Global operates in 23 countries worldwide and employs 5,500 people. The group comprises seven wood-based panel manufacturing facilities, 17 distribution centers, and three enterprises specializing in rubber and paper production.
Alongside expanding the operations of its six existing distribution centers in Uzbekistan, the company is working to establish a manufacturing facility in the Tashkent Region with an annual production capacity of 50,000 cubic meters of laminated boards.
The project is expected to ensure a stable supply of essential materials to local furniture manufacturers, expand the production of import-substituting products, and strengthen industrial cooperation within the sector.
The company also plans to establish an IT and corporate services center in Uzbekistan. The initiative envisages creating approximately 100 new jobs and exporting nearly 90 percent of the services provided by the center to the group's enterprises operating abroad.
During the negotiations, the Agency's management proposed that the company obtain a certificate of locally manufactured goods through Uzbekexpertiza JSC, in accordance with the established procedures, for products manufactured in Uzbekistan and take advantage of the opportunities available under the country's public procurement system.
The Agency also expressed its readiness to provide practical assistance, within the scope of its authority, in developing Ultradecor's operations in Uzbekistan, localizing production, and establishing new industrial cooperation partnerships.
Furthermore, company representatives were invited to consider participating in the industrial bonded zones planned for establishment in Uzbekistan and explore opportunities to implement new manufacturing projects within these zones.
The meeting also addressed the potential establishment of operations in Uzbekistan by Casa Foundation, a foundation associated with the Ultradecor Group. Relevant clarifications were provided on this matter.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in developing local manufacturing, expanding industrial cooperation, and implementing promising investment projects.
