Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement Agency

The event brought together representatives of international financial institutions and development organizations, foreign diplomatic missions accredited to Uzbekistan, leading international consulting firms, and distinguished international experts to discuss opportunities for expanding strategic cooperation in support of the country's ongoing economic and institutional reforms.

During the roundtable, the Agency presented the key achievements accomplished during the first half of 2026 in the areas of international cooperation, science–industry collaboration, and institutional development. Participants were also briefed on the Agency's strategic priorities and future initiatives aimed at further strengthening Uzbekistan's industrial ecosystem and modernizing its public procurement framework.

It was highlighted that, during the reporting period, the Agency organized more than 30 high-level meetings with international financial institutions and development partners, including the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, and other international organizations. In addition, Memoranda of Understanding were concluded with Korea Elevator University, the Korea Elevator Safety Foundation, KPMG, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), laying the foundation for long-term cooperation in areas of mutual strategic interest.

The discussions further explored practical avenues for incorporating international best practices, technical expertise, and innovative approaches into the Agency's ongoing reforms in public procurement, industrial cooperation, local value creation, and service localization. Participants exchanged views on mechanisms for strengthening institutional collaboration and promoting knowledge transfer to accelerate the implementation of internationally recognized standards and practices.

Particular attention was devoted to strengthening science–industry collaboration, with emphasis on establishing an integrated school–higher education–research–industry ecosystem capable of fostering innovation and facilitating the commercialization of scientific research and technological developments. Participants underscored the importance of building effective linkages among educational institutions, research organizations, and industry to enhance national innovation capacity and industrial competitiveness.

Representatives of the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, KPMG, Ernst & Young (EY), McKinsey & Company, and UNDP reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Agency's reform agenda. Their partnerships focused on ongoing and prospective initiatives aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency, and sustainability in public procurement, strengthening institutional governance, and further developing professional and organizational capacities within the sector.

The roundtable concluded with an interactive dialogue during which participants exchanged practical recommendations and explored opportunities for expanding international partnerships, introducing advanced international practices, and implementing joint initiatives that would contribute to the continued modernization of Uzbekistan's industrial cooperation and public procurement systems.

The event concluded with a shared commitment to further strengthening international cooperation and broadening collaboration among government institutions, international organizations, scientific and research institutions, and the private sector. Participants reaffirmed their readiness to work jointly toward promoting sustainable industrial development, fostering innovation, and enhancing the effectiveness of Uzbekistan's public procurement and industrial cooperation systems in line with international best practices.
