The prestigious festival gathers folklore ensembles from around the world to celebrate cultural diversity and traditional music. The Jizzakh musicians captivated audiences with renditions of classical maqam compositions performed on traditional instruments such as the dutar, rubab, gijjak, and doira.
“Our mission is to share the soul of the Uzbek people through maqam — a musical language that connects hearts beyond borders,” said the ensemble’s leader.
The group’s performances not only highlight the beauty of maqam but also showcase Uzbekistan’s national costumes and stage traditions, offering a vivid representation of the country’s artistic identity.
In recent years, Uzbekistan’s artistic ensembles have been actively participating in international cultural platforms, promoting national art and fostering creative exchange. The National Maqam Art Center has become a driving force in preserving this ancient musical tradition while introducing it to global audiences.
According to the Center’s representatives, the participation of Uzbek musicians in events like the Ismailia Festival strengthens cultural diplomacy, encourages young talents, and promotes friendship among nations.
“The Ismailia Festival not only celebrates folklore but also conveys messages of peace, unity, and mutual respect through the universal language of art,” the Center stated.
