Uzbek and Chinese Cities Sign Sister-City Memorandums

During the meeting, the parties discussed new areas of partnership, including trade, investment, education, tourism, and innovation. The signed memorandums outline plans to implement joint projects, organize cultural exchanges, and share best practices in urban management.
According to the Alliance of Sister Cities leadership, “these memorandums mark a new chapter in Uzbekistan–China relations, strengthening mutual trust and bringing cities closer together not only economically, but also through people-to-people connections.”
Yiwu is known as one of the world’s largest trade hubs and a key player in the global digital commerce ecosystem. Uzbekistan, as an active participant in China’s Belt and Road Initiative, continues to deepen its cooperation with Chinese regions in trade, logistics, culture, and innovation.
Recent years have seen an increase in city-level partnerships between Uzbekistan and China, reflecting growing mutual interest in long-term, sustainable cooperation.
The signing of these memorandums symbolizes the strengthening of strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China.
