At the Academy of State Policy and Governance under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, within the framework of retraining and advanced training courses for the heads of non-governmental non-profit organizations (NGOs), an event was held on the topic: “Supporting NGO Initiatives in Ensuring the Implementation of the 2025 Action Program of the ‘Uzbekistan – 2030’ Strategy.”
The event was attended by representatives of state bodies, members of parliament, the leadership of the Ministry of Justice, public funds and civil society institutions, as well as heads of NGOs.
Participants exchanged views on the role of NGOs in the country’s development, their importance in addressing social issues, and the conditions being created by the state to support their activities.
During the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendship with Foreign Countries of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Association of Non-Governmental Non-Profit Organizations of Uzbekistan. This document is aimed at bringing cooperation in the development of civil society to a new stage.
It was emphasized that today around 10,000 NGOs are operating in our country. As important institutions of civil society, they:
-
contribute to the development of the nation,
-
help meet the social needs of the population,
-
actively participate in addressing local issues.
In state policy, the development of civil society has been defined as a priority direction, with special attention paid to creating favorable conditions for NGOs.
