In recent years, ensuring interethnic harmony and tolerance in society, strengthening the atmosphere of friendship, and the feeling of a single multinational family, educating young people in the spirit of love and devotion to the Motherland, respect for national and universal values, expanding cultural and educational ties with foreign countries have become one of the priority areas of state policy. It is noteworthy that the work carried out in this direction has reached a new, high level.
It is known that in accordance with the resolution of the UN General Assembly, July 30 is celebrated throughout the world as International Friendship Day. Every year, our multinational people celebrate this holiday with great enthusiasm.
Continuing this tradition, this year, from July 25 to 31, the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Compatriots Abroad of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with a number of organizations, is holding events of the Friendship Festival.
As part of the Friendship Festival, a grand opening ceremony of the photo exhibition “The View of Friendship” was held. It is dedicated to fraternal peoples and serves to strengthen interethnic harmony, friendship and further development of the atmosphere of tolerance in the country. It was attended by the leadership and staff of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Compatriots Abroad, activists of national cultural centers and friendship societies, and representatives of the media.
The exhibition was opened by O. Narzullaev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Compatriots Abroad. In his congratulatory speech, noting the historical and spiritual significance of the Day of Friendship of Peoples, he emphasized an invaluable role of such exhibitions in strengthening interethnic harmony and friendship.
A. Nur, Chairman of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, noted that the Friendship Festival and the exhibition organized within its framework make a significant contribution to strengthening interethnic harmony and tolerance in our country.
Undoubtedly, such events, organized for the purpose of further strengthening friendship and harmony between representatives of different nationalities and ethnic groups living in our country, fostering kindness and compassion, serve to ensure interethnic harmony and cohesion in our society, strengthening the atmosphere of friendship and the feeling of a single multinational family, educating young people in the spirit of love and devotion to the Motherland, respect for national and universal values, and expanding cultural, educational and friendly ties with foreign countries.
