Press conference on the ongoing Friendship Festival, dedicated to July 30 — Peoples’ Friendship Day

A press conference dedicated to the Friendship Festival, on the occasion of July 30 — Peoples’ Friendship Day, was held in the building of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Compatriots Abroad of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Committee, representatives of national cultural centers, friendship societies, the Alliance of Sister Cities, and media workers. The conference provided detailed information on the main events planned within the framework of the Friendship Festival.
In his speech, K. Sariev, Chairman of the Committee, congratulated the conference participants on July 30 — Peoples’ Friendship Day, noting that the festival was organized on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and its main goal is to strengthen interethnic harmony, develop an atmosphere of mutual trust, and strengthen cooperation with compatriots abroad.
O. Kuvondikov, Press Secretary reported on the wide coverage of the events held within the framework of the festival in the media.
During the press conference, detailed answers were given to journalists’ questions. The participants of the event emphasized in their opinions the need to carefully preserve the atmosphere of interethnic tolerance and harmony that has been established in the country.
It is worth noting that from July 25 to 31, various cultural, spiritual-enlightenment, scientific and practical events are planned in our country.
The program includes:
July 26, at 19:00 – Gala concert dedicated to the festival at the Palace of Trade Unions in Tashkent;
July 28–29, at 10:00 – Exhibition of photographs of fraternal peoples “Dustlik nigohi” (“The View of Friendship”) (Tashkent House of Photography);
at 16:00 – Creative meeting “Qardoshlik mushoirasi” dedicated to the friendship of different peoples (in the Union of Writers);
at 17:00 – International exhibition and fair of handicrafts of different nationalities artisans from abroad and our country “From the depths of the Motherland...” (Navruz Park);
July 29, at 10:00 – International conference on the topic “Ensuring national unity and strengthening ties with compatriots abroad is an important basis for the development of New Uzbekistan”;
at 17:00 – Exhibitions of national cultural centers of our country and performances of amateur art groups under the slogan “Uzbekistan is common Motherland!” on the square near the building of the Committee on Interethnic Relations;
July 30, at 14:00 – Ceremony of presenting the “Friendship of Peoples” badge at the capital’s Intercontinental Hotel;
July 31 at 10:00 a briefing will be held on the results of the “Friendship” festival.
The festival will include various cultural, spiritual-enlightenment, and scientific and practical festive events at prestigious entertainment venues, as well as in parks and gardens in Tashkent, and all regions of our republic.
