Preparations for the 2026 Sister Cities International Forum Begin with Online Meeting

During the discussion, participants addressed matters related to organizing the forum at a high international standard, hosting foreign delegations, shaping the forum’s agenda, and arranging cultural and networking events. Agreements were reached on developing a clear action plan, implementing preparations in stages, and approving the schedule for future meetings.
It was emphasized that the Sister Cities International Forum will serve as an important platform for advancing inter-city cooperation and strengthening economic, trade, investment, and humanitarian ties at the regional level. The forum aims to expand direct dialogue between cities and promote practical initiatives and joint projects.
According to the proposed program, the forum will include plenary sessions and thematic panels, B2B and B2G meetings, and ceremonies for signing cooperation agreements and sister-city partnerships. A special exhibition showcasing the investment, tourism, and infrastructure potential of participating cities is also planned.
Members of the working group highlighted that the forum will open new opportunities for investors and business representatives while enhancing local governance and infrastructure capacity through international experience exchange. The event is also expected to contribute to strengthening Uzbekistan’s international image and promoting its socio-economic potential at the city level.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continue coordinated preparations, maintain close inter-agency cooperation, and ensure that the forum delivers tangible, results-oriented outcomes.
