Participants reviewed the outcomes of implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action in Uzbekistan. Progress in increasing women’s socio-political participation and expanding opportunities in education, healthcare, employment, and entrepreneurship was highlighted. At the same time, new challenges related to digital transformation, climate change, and labor market shifts were discussed.
S. Davlatova, Head of a Department at the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Work with Compatriots Abroad, also participated in the forum. She noted that ensuring gender equality is closely linked to interethnic harmony, social stability, and the protection of human rights.
The discussions resulted in proposals aimed at strengthening cooperation between state and civil society institutions, improving legal and institutional mechanisms for protecting women’s rights, and enhancing the role of the media in promoting gender equality.
It was emphasized that the ideas and recommendations voiced at the forum will contribute to further development of national policies on women’s rights and empowerment.
