The meeting was organized in line with Presidential Decree PD–52 and Resolution PR–115, both adopted on 19 March 2025, which aim to elevate engagement with compatriots abroad and strengthen mechanisms for protecting their rights and legitimate interests.
Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Work with Compatriots Abroad, Kakhramon Sariyev, briefed participants on the large-scale reforms underway in New Uzbekistan and the new opportunities being created for citizens abroad. He emphasized that, under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s initiative, supporting compatriots overseas has become a key priority of state policy.
Discussions also covered issues of interethnic harmony, strengthening friendly relations with foreign countries, ongoing democratic reforms, and the favorable conditions and incentives available for business and investment in Uzbekistan. Participants shared proposals regarding potential investment projects and innovative initiatives.
Special attention was given to cooperation platforms and programs such as “Uz Global Think”, “Who Is Who”, the UNDP’s TOKTEN initiative for transferring knowledge through expatriates, and the “Uzbek Graduates” platform that connects Uzbek professionals educated and working abroad.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants noted that such open dialogues play an important role in strengthening ties with compatriots and channeling their knowledge and expertise toward Uzbekistan’s sustainable development.
