The project aims to raise interest in the Tatar language, strengthen correct writing and speaking skills, introduce participants to literary standards, and foster respect for native-language traditions. Attendees had the opportunity to test their spelling and grammar while engaging more deeply with the language’s cultural context.
More than one hundred people took part in the Tashkent session, including seniors, students, teachers, young people, and individuals studying Tatar independently. For many, participating in the dictation was a meaningful way to reconnect with their roots and support efforts to preserve the language.
Organizers emphasized that this year’s event serves not only as a literacy test but also as an important cultural initiative that reinforces interethnic dialogue, promotes linguistic diversity, and highlights Uzbekistan’s commitment to supporting the heritage of all national communities living in the country.
Experts note that such initiatives play a key role in revitalizing interest in the Tatar language, strengthening generational continuity, and preserving cultural identity. Participants received certificates at the end of the event, and organizers signaled plans to further expand the initiative in the coming years.
