The initiative aims to promote interethnic harmony, strengthen mutual respect among communities, and highlight the country’s commitment to peace and inclusiveness as part of the “Uzbekistan–2030” national strategy.
The events are organized by the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries, the Committee for Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, the Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, the Youth Union, the Writers’ Association, and the National Television and Radio Company.
Main events and highlights
The week opens with a ceremony at the “New Uzbekistan” Park, featuring a wreath-laying at the Independence Monument, a Tolerance March, and a tree-planting campaign under the nationwide “Green Space” project.
On November 12, the Writers’ Union and Tashkent Photo House will host exhibitions titled “Uzbekistan – the Land of Tolerance,” showcasing books, art, and photography by representatives of various ethnic communities.
The key academic event — an international conference “Uzbekistan – the Land of Tolerance” — will take place on November 15 at the International Hotel Tashkent, gathering regional delegates, scholars, and international experts to discuss public diplomacy and the promotion of a culture of coexistence.
Fostering peace through understanding
Experts emphasize that such initiatives deepen a sense of civic responsibility, empathy, and patriotism among youth. Officials note that “Tolerance Week is not merely a series of events, but a platform to strengthen mutual trust and harmony within society.”
Educational institutions across the country will host open classes, cultural meetings, sports tournaments, and youth ambassador programs. Trips to Samarkand and the Center for Islamic Civilization are also part of the agenda.
Through these activities, Uzbekistan continues to demonstrate its vision of a peaceful, inclusive, and united society — a key pillar of its 2030 development strategy.
