Joint Protocol Signed to Improve Energy Efficiency of Schools and Hospitals

On September 17, within the framework of the III International Forum III International Forum — From Poverty to Prosperity held in Namangan, Uzbekistan, about 200 international experts participated. The forum sessions discussed innovative approaches to poverty reduction, including market mechanisms, opportunities for Islamic finance, business inclusiveness, and investment in human capital.
During the forum, a cooperation protocol was signed between Japan International Cooperation Agency, Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and National Agency for Energy Efficiency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding the implementation of a project aimed at improving the energy efficiency of schools and hospitals in Uzbekistan.
The protocol provides for the assessment of the current condition of educational and medical institutions, identification of heat and electricity losses, introduction of energy-saving technologies, and attraction of financing for installing solar panels and using renewable energy sources.
The implementation of this initiative will improve the energy efficiency of schools and hospitals in the country and promote the introduction of modern energy-saving technologies.
