From June 19 to 21, 2025, the National Agency for Energy Efficiency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ESMA) participated in the international ecological technologies exhibition ECO EXPO Central Asia-2025, which was held for the first time in Tashkent at the Central Asian Expo (CAEx) exhibition center.
ECO EXPO Central Asia-2025 is the largest international exhibition of ecological technologies in Central Asia, with representatives from over 25 countries, including Turkey, China, the UAE, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Germany, and others.
The international exhibition showcased projects related to artificial intelligence, water-saving technologies, green energy, ecotourism, and sustainable energy.
At its pavilion, the Agency demonstrated the “green renovation” and “green credit” programs aimed at improving the energy efficiency of socially significant buildings and reducing environmental impact.
In particular, the Agency presented innovative solutions in the field of “green renovation” and financial instruments called “green credits” to finance highly energy-efficient projects. Visitors got acquainted with modern technologies for home heating, energy-saving lighting systems, and renewable energy sources, and received consultations on the terms and advantages of the “green credit.”
It is important to note that starting July 1, 2025, a subsidy system will be introduced by the Agency to cover the costs of conducting energy audits of residential buildings, as well as up to 20% of the cost of solar panels and heliocollectors, and up to 40% of the cost of heat pumps (air, water, and geothermal), but not exceeding 50 times the base calculation amount.
Additionally, for “green renovation” loans provided to the population, the portion of the interest rate exceeding 19%, but not more than 4 percentage points, will be compensated by the Agency’s funds through commercial banks.
“We have gained the opportunity to showcase Uzbekistan’s successful initiatives in energy saving and sustainable development on the international stage. Our programs help both the population and businesses not only reduce energy costs but also contribute to environmental protection,” said a representative of the National Energy Efficiency Agency.
During the exhibition, the Agency’s pavilion hosted interactive presentations, masterclasses, and Q&A sessions with experts.
For reference: The National Agency for Energy Efficiency was established with the aim of implementing a unified state policy in the field of energy efficiency improvement, creating a holistic and coordinated ecosystem based on market principles, including the development of energy consumption audit, consulting, and management, as well as the market for energy service companies that generate income from energy savings, and expanding “green” financial instruments in the “Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy.”
