At the meeting, the parties noted cooperation between universities of Uzbekistan and Japan, as well as the need to further develop relations in this area.
Uzbek professors regularly participate in internships and advanced training courses in Japan. Currently, Japanese is taught to students as a main subject, as well as the first and second foreign language, at 6 universities in our country.
390 people were sent to Japan under the project "Provision of Scholarships for Human Resource Development with the Generous Support of the Government of Japan" (JDS), and 382 people returned to Japan to obtain a master's degree and 8 to study for a doctorate.
Currently, 535 students are studying at the Digital University of Japan. In addition, the Uzbek-Japanese Youth Innovation Center operates at the Tashkent State Technical University.
The meeting also discussed the issue of establishing cooperation with Japanese universities to train highly qualified personnel for areas that contribute to rapid industrial development, such as transport, mechanical engineering, architecture and construction, geology, innovative technologies, metallurgy, energy, and renewable energy technologies.
The issues of creating joint scientific and practical centers and laboratories, engineering schools and technology parks, organizing joint scientific conferences, and improving the qualifications of professors and teachers at Japanese universities were also discussed.
