At the roundtable discussion on "Uzbekistan-Italy", a number of talks were held between O. Mahkamov and the representatives of Italian universities of Pisa, Tushia, Turin Polytechnic, and Perugia. According to their results, it was agreed to invite Italian professors and teachers in the field of geology to the Pisa University branch in Tashkent. The Department of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences (DAFNE), Tushia University, with Mr. Simone Severini, Professor of Agricultural Economics and Policy, offers joint training programs in archaeology, agriculture, engineering and summer agreed to establish schools.

On May 29, the third conference of foreign ministers of "Italy-Central Asia" was held. The event was attended by representatives of finance, investments, industry and trade, energy, transport, ecology, education and science of Italy and Central Asian countries.
The conference was divided into panel sessions, and the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation O. Makhkamov gave his presentation in the 3rd panel session on the topic of "Higher Education and Knowledge Networks". In his speech, O. Makhkamov emphasized that Italy is an important and reliable cooperation of Uzbekistan in Europe and that the relations between our countries have been raised to the level of strategic partnership.

In addition, a meeting was held with the Italian Minister of Universities and Research, Anna Maria Bernini. A. Bernini to establish and expand cooperative relations with universities, to open new branches of Italian universities in Uzbekistan, to implement scientific research programs in Italy in engineering and technology, geology, agricultural technology and other areas and expressed interest in financing them.

At the same time, at the end of September 2024, Minister A. Bernini announced his readiness to hold the first forum of Uzbek and Italian universities in Tashkent and personally lead the Italian delegation.
