The State Assets Management Agency of the republic of Uzbekistan

In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan ‘On Management of State Property’ and the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 647 dated 4 November 2022, a competition is announced for the selection of candidates to the supervisory boards of enterprises with the participation of the State Assets Management Agency on the basis of competitive selection for their subsequent election to the supervisory boards of these enterprises on the state share.

An open competition is announced for the selection of 22 candidates to the Supervisory Boards of 10 companies with the participation of UzSAMA, listed in the table below.

Applications for participation in the competition are accepted electronically through a special web portal (cns.davaktiv.uz) of UzSAMA (instruction for use). Taking into account the sectoral direction of each enterprise, additional requirements are set.

The competition process is open to all individuals who wish to act as members of the supervisory board of companies and fulfil the following general requirements:

• Possession of a valid certificate of qualification as a corporate governance manager, except for individuals for whom the law does not require this certificate;
• higher education;
• at least two years of professional experience, with preference given to candidates with industry experience;
• the candidate must not be a member of the management or a director of the company for which the application is being submitted, or perform their functions, and must not be employed under an employment contract;
• must not have a criminal record for economic or managerial offences, must not be restricted in the right to hold a position by a court decision, and must not have been found guilty of corruption offences;
• must not be an employee of a state body exercising regulatory or supervisory functions in relation to the company (including licensing bodies and bodies checking financial and economic activities); 
• must not be an employee of a state body exercising regulatory or supervisory functions in relation to the company;
• must not be a member of five or more supervisory boards (for civil servants - no more than three supervisory boards of companies);
• must not be an employee of an audit organisation that has provided audit services to the company and/or its affiliates within the last three years.

Candidates are obliged to assume the fiduciary responsibilities assigned to the members of the Supervisory Board.

In line with the state policy on gender equality, priority will be given to female candidates in the competitive selection process, taking into account their qualifications, work experience and relevance to the industry.
