Agency for Management of State Assets of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On January 23 of the current year in UzSAMA a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Uzbekistan Reinis Trokša and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Latvian company BAO Janis Vilgerts was held.

At the beginning of the meeting, Director of UzSAMA A. Ortikov provided detailed information on the main directions of the Agency's activities and tasks, as well as on the Laws and relevant regulations adopted to reform this sphere, including the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On State Property Management” and “On Privatization of State Property”.

In addition, A. Ortikov noted that with the adoption of the developed fundamental documents, the efficiency of privatization processes in Uzbekistan has significantly increased, and a new privatization program is currently being developed.

After that, in continuation of his speech, the Director of UzSAMA told the guests about the activities of the electronic trading platform “E-auksion” and its advantages.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Uzbekistan Reinis Trokša thanked for the information presented and noted that privatization is an important part of the economy of every state, and that the private sector plays a great role in its development. He also emphasized that in Uzbekistan this sector is given a lot of attention, and the positive results attract the attention of European states.

In turn, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BAO Janis Wilgerts in his speech highly appreciated the activity of the electronic trading platform “E-auksion”, noting that this platform is really transparent and technologically highly developed. In this context, he informed that the mining site located in Navoi region was won by BAO JSC through this electronic platform.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on further close cooperation.
