Bukhara District is consistently implementing measures to promote the rational use of water resources, improve irrigation systems, and ensure a reliable water supply for agricultural land. In particular, concreting work on the Juyzar Canal, which runs through the district, is being carried out in stages.
The total length of the project is 22.5 kilometers. To date, concreting work on the first 10 kilometers of the canal has been fully completed. This section is currently being used to irrigate household plots and agricultural land belonging to farming enterprises.
Plans are currently in place to continue concreting the remaining section of the canal. The water needs of local residents and farming enterprises during the irrigation season are being taken into account, with priority given to ensuring an adequate water supply for agricultural land. Once the irrigation season ends, concreting work on the remaining section will resume.
Built in 1938, the Juyzar Canal plays an important role in supplying water to more than 13,000 hectares of agricultural land in Bukhara District and neighboring areas. Gradually concreting the canal will help reduce water losses caused by seepage, improve water delivery efficiency, and ensure more effective use of available water resources.
The full implementation of the project is expected to improve irrigation system efficiency, enhance water distribution, and create more favorable conditions for farmers and agricultural enterprises.
The concreting of the Juyzar Canal in Bukhara District will contribute to water conservation, the sustainable development of agriculture, and the modernization of irrigation infrastructure.
