Cotton Harvesting Begins in Bukhara District

Farmers and cotton growers in Bukhara District have long been known for their hard work and resilience. This year, despite natural challenges, including water shortages and other difficulties, they managed to achieve a rich harvest through their experience and perseverance.
Natural challenges and water shortages were overcome through the experience, initiative and dedicated efforts of local farmers. This year, cotton was planted on 7,200 hectares in the district and cultivated in accordance with established agrotechnical practices.
Cotton growers plan to harvest and deliver nearly 39,000 tons of raw cotton to collection points this year. The necessary conditions have been created, and sufficient machinery for transporting the harvest has been prepared.
Before the start of the cotton harvesting season, the Quran was recited at the Chor Bakr pilgrimage site, followed by prayers for the strength and success of all cotton growers and pickers working during the season, as well as for a blessed and abundant harvest.
To ensure the organized conduct of the harvesting season, 172 cotton-picking brigades have been formed, involving 8,800 cotton pickers.
Alongside manual labor, modern agricultural machinery will also be widely used during the harvesting process. A total of 11 cotton-picking machines have been allocated for the season, including 1 FM World, 8 John Deere and 2 Boshiran machines.
Intensive work has now begun in the fields. Cotton growers are making every effort to harvest the cultivated crop quickly and efficiently and deliver it to collection points without losses.
