In Bukhara District, efforts to widely introduce modern agricultural technologies, ensure efficient use of water resources, and develop unused land areas are continuing consistently. A large-scale investment project implemented by the “Uch Qarag‘ay” LLC cotton cluster in cooperation with Chinese investors serves as a practical example of this work.
Within the framework of the project, cotton is currently being cultivated on nearly 2,000 hectares of desert land using the Xinjiang cultivation method. Water-saving drip irrigation technology has been introduced in the fields, and all agrotechnical measures are being carried out according to the established schedule. At present, cotton plants have entered the flowering stage, which is an important factor for achieving a high yield in the future.
This project is a practical result of cooperation established based on agreements reached during the official visit of a delegation led by Bukhara District Governor Anvarjon Ochilov to the People’s Republic of China. The introduction of China’s advanced experience and modern agricultural technologies is aimed at increasing soil productivity, ensuring rational water use, and significantly improving crop yields.
Last year, an experimental project on cotton cultivation using drip irrigation technology was successfully implemented on 350 hectares in the Qumsulton desert area located within the Novmetan and Kunjikala neighborhoods of the district. The positive results achieved became a strong foundation for expanding the project, and today its scale has increased several times.
This investment project contributes not only to bringing unused lands into agricultural production but also to the development of modern cotton farming, creation of new jobs, ensuring employment of local residents, and further strengthening the agricultural and investment potential of Bukhara District.
