Joint Appeal of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Council of Farmers of Uzbekistan
Dear farmers, dehqan farmers, and dedicated agricultural workers,
This year, cotton is being cultivated on 889.5 thousand hectares across Uzbekistan, including 305.2 thousand hectares using the Xinjiang cultivation method. Despite the challenging climatic conditions of the season, achieving a high cotton yield depends directly on carrying out all agronomic practices on time and to a high standard.
Particular attention should be paid during the second half of July and early August to timely irrigation, inter-row cultivation, topping of cotton plants, pest control, foliar feeding, and weed management.
Therefore, every farming enterprise is encouraged to launch the "Critical 20 Days" campaign and focus on the following priorities:
- organize irrigation efficiently around the clock and use water resources wisely;
- provide timely incentives for irrigators, machine operators, and field workers;
- carry out topping, cultivation, and fertilization of cotton on time;
- strengthen integrated pest management against bollworms, spider mites, aphids, and other pests;
- use boric acid, micronutrients, and biological stimulants based on specialists' recommendations;
- lightly cultivate the soil after each irrigation;
- remove weeds and keep fields free from waste;
- implement additional agronomic measures in underdeveloped fields;
- apply agronomic techniques that accelerate cotton maturation according to crop conditions.
Dear farmers,
The Government of Uzbekistan has introduced a number of incentives to support cotton producers. In particular, Presidential Decree No. PF-82 of May 8, 2026, established additional mechanisms to encourage farms that effectively utilize concessional loans. Making the best use of these opportunities depends, above all, on achieving high productivity.
Every high-quality agronomic practice carried out on every hectare lays the foundation for tomorrow's abundant harvest. Today's efforts are the guarantee of tomorrow's prosperity, higher incomes, and continued success in Uzbekistan's cotton sector.
We call on all of you, within the framework of the "Critical 20 Days" campaign, to organize agronomic activities in cotton fields at the highest level, safeguard the crop, and work diligently to achieve high yields from every hectare.
