The speech of Minister of Justice A. Tashkulov was presented at the Global Innovation Index 2025 event

The Global Innovation Index is an annual international ranking that evaluates countries’ levels of innovative development and competitiveness.
In his opening remarks, the Minister emphasized that innovation-driven development is given top priority by the state, noting that as a result, Uzbekistan has climbed 40 positions in the ranking over the past nine years (2015–2024).
He highlighted intellectual property projects and ongoing reforms, support for startups, and the introduction of digital services as the main drivers of the country’s innovative progress.
It was also stressed that Uzbekistan is determined to build a knowledge- and innovation-based economy in the future, support young people, and expand international cooperation.
According to the results of the Global Innovation Index 2025, Uzbekistan rose by 4 positions compared to 2024, reaching 79th place and ranking first among Central Asian countries.
