The article by Joan Blum, professor of Boston College Law School, USA, on the topic “Herding CATs: Building Student Engagement in Remote Learning in the United States and Uzbekistan” was published in the prestigious international scientific journal Journal of Legal Education.
Reference: Journal of Legal Education (ISSN 0022-2208) is a publication of the Association of American Law Schools and is indexed in the Scopus database. The primary purpose of the Journal is to foster a rich interchange of ideas and information about legal education and related matters, including but not limited to the legal profession, legal theory, and legal scholarship.
Joan Blum graduated from Harvard University (1975) and Columbia Law School (1978). Since 2017, Joan Blum has been cooperating with Tashkent State University of Law in the framework of various programs.
In the article, the author analyzed the positive aspects of organizing distance learning at TDU in a short period of time during a pandemic. In particular, the author noted that in light of drawbacks of the virtual classroom, however, U.S. law teachers may find instructive the experience of teachers at TSUL, who have devised ways to employ activities in lower-bandwidth contexts. Joan Blum spent 4 years to publish the article.
