✅ On 27 January of this year, a meeting was held between the Minister of Justice A. Tashkulov and the Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Economic Development, Effective Governance and International Cooperation, Suma Chakrabarti.
🤝 During the meeting, the following issues were discussed:
— harmonization of national legislation with WTO rules and standards;
— simplification, digitalization, and human-centered orientation of public services within the framework of the “Eliminating Bureaucracy” program;
— issues related to the establishment of the court of the International Digital Technologies Center.
🔹 The Minister of Justice A. Tashkulov briefed the foreign side on the latest reforms being implemented by the Ministry. In particular, it was emphasized that bureaucratic barriers are being consistently reduced through the modernization and digitalization of public services.
📊 It was also noted that efforts toward Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization have intensified. In particular, in 2025, as a result of the adoption of 28 regulatory legal acts, 59 documents were aligned with WTO agreements, and since 2023 the total number of harmonized documents has exceeded 160.
🔎 At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation within the framework of the activities of the International Digital Technologies Center, which operates under a special legal regime.
