Concrete Results and New Initiatives on the Protection of the Rights of Women and Children Discussed

🔸 Today, a press conference dedicated to human rights issues—particularly the protection of the rights and freedoms of women and children—was held at the National Press Center of Uzbekistan with the participation of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and partner organizations.
🔹 In recent years, more than 20 regulatory and legal acts have been adopted in this area, and legal mechanisms to prevent violence and pressure have been strengthened.
📊 Results of the measures implemented:
– legal issues of nearly 6.5 thousand women were resolved positively;
– more than 41 thousand women received free legal assistance;
– recovery of over 5 billion soums in benefits and wages was ensured;
– employment was provided for more than 500 women;
– over 1,000 individuals were enrolled in free vocational training courses.
📊 On the rights of children and youth:
– 1,550 mobile receptions were conducted, during which nearly 3.3 thousand appeals were reviewed;
– the violated rights of more than 2,000 children and young people were restored;
– recovery of wages and allowances for 279 individuals was ensured;
– benefits and subsidies were provided to 655 individuals.
❗️ In addition, initiatives were proposed to introduce digital solutions with automatic alerts in cases of potential risks of violence against children, as well as to maintain an open registry of individuals who have committed sexual violence against children.
🔸 Furthermore, proposals were put forward to strengthen the regulation of private preschool education institutions, introduce mandatory psychological assessments for staff, and impose financial liability measures on institutions in cases of violence.
🔹 The implementation of these initiatives will contribute to further strengthening the system for the protection of the rights of women and children.
