On December 19 of this year, a round table discussion on pressing issues of improving inheritance law was held at the Institute of Legislation and Legal Policy under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The discussion was attended by a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State University of Law, as well as leaders, specialists of the Notarial Chamber of Uzbekistan and notaries.

During the event, participants discussed existing shortcomings in the field of inheritance law in Uzbekistan, ways to eliminate them, as well as the rapid introduction of digitalization and reforms into legislation, and the emergence of new types of inheritance and inheritance rights due to the development of social networks.

In addition, experts addressed issues related to digital inheritance that may be inherited on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and others, including the possibility of granting inheritance rights to such assets in the future and their notarization.

During the event, a number of proposals and recommendations were put forward to improve legislation.
